PROLOGUE
A small intro to atoratorina—exploring creative practice and methodology.
Whether you’re a photographer, filmmaker, a creative in other field, or simply someone who’s curious about the creative process, you’ve just stumbled upon this newsletter and I do hope you stick around and find it as enjoyable read and resource.
atoratorina focuses on the process behind my work: the scripted narratives, photography, directing and filming, equipment setups, and all things BTS, plus a bit more. And I hope you take insights from here no university course could provide, and something that comes from real world experience.
My published work is available through my website and Instagram.
While I do enjoy shooting a dozen looks for a client, and capturing some super 8, I notice I start feeling electric when I have to conceptualise a story from scratch, write the script for the model to say, imagine the world of the character, find a title for the story then the titlecard, the music, the feel, the mood, all of it. I love the craft, the process.
If you feel there is anyone who would appreciate or even benefit from reading this newsletter, please do share or recommend it.
Feel free to recommend new art (from books to films, sculptures and paintings) in the comments, or if there’s anything you’d like to know more about, do leave a comment!
